15-year-old mathematics prodigy Li'l Mayne and his four best friends (JoJo, Melvin, Tony, and Bobby Ray) cope with growing up in low-income government housing. Li'l Mayne's goal is to help everyone, but he learns that this is not possible.

The story follows a group of children and their adventures in outback Australia. The title character of the series, Li'l Elvis, is a ten-year-old boy with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Lil Elvis has a gift for music, a talent for trouble and a desire for only one thing - to find out who he really is and be a normal kid again. The opening sequence and music reveal that he was thrown out of a gold Cadillac in a guitar case, hinting that he is the illegitimate child of Elvis Presley. He is raised by foster parents, truck stop proprietors Grace and Len, who are fervent fans of Elvis Presley. As Li'l Elvis is musically talented, singing and playing the guitar, his foster mother is convinced he is the son of Elvis Presley.

L'il Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers is an animated adventure comedy about a boy with a talent for trouble and a genius for rock'n'roll. Together with his fellow Truckstoppers, Lionel and Janet, L'il Elvis is the creator of the one and only “didgibilli“ sound. L'il Elvis never wanted to be a rock star. He'd rather zoom through the desert on his scoot board, explore some spooky mine or play with his Sea Monkeys. But when you show up on the doorstep of the world's most dedicated Elvis fans, Grace and Len Jones, and you're wrapped in rhinestone swaddling clothes in an old guitar case - you know that fate's taken a hand in your future. And when WC Moore, the world's “nicest billionaire“ decides to transform Wannapoo into a 1950's theme town called L'il Memphis and cash in on the didgibilli sound, L'il Elvis and the Truckstoppers find themselves caught in a trap. If they stop playing, the tourists stop coming, the money stops flowing and WC forecloses on everybody's loans.

Li'l Abner becomes convinced that he is going to die within twenty-four hours, so agrees to marry two different girls: Daisy Mae (who has chased him for years) and Wendy Wilecat (who rescued him from an angry mob). It is all settled at the Sadie Hawkins Day race.
